Drafted: Washington Redskins in the 1st round (3rd overall) of the 1964 National Football League (NFL) Draft, Houston Oilers in the 2nd round (9th overall) of the 1964 American Football League (AFL) Draft

In the 1966 season, Taylor scored 300.10 fantasy points for the Washington Redskins. He played He played in 14 games with 72 receptions (NFL league leader) for 1,119 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns. He also had 262 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns.
