1966 FFE All-Pro Team

Along with naming a Fantasy Football Encyclopedia Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player winner for each season starting in 1963, I also wanted to recognize the other outstanding players from each individual season. Each All-Pro Team (1st and 2nd Team) will have one quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers and one tight end. Here is the 1966 Fantasy Football Encyclopedia All-Pro TeamFantasy points are shown in ( ). 

First Team All-Pro

Quarterback

Don Meredith, Dallas Cowboys (286.40)

Meredith played in 13 games (started 13 games) and had 2,805 passing yards and 24 passing touchdowns with 12 interceptions. He also had 242 rushing yards and 5 rushing touchdowns. 

Running Back

Leroy Kelly, Cleveland Browns (278.70)

Kelly played in 14 games (started 14 games) and had 1,141 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns (NFL league leader). He also had 32 receptions for 366 receiving yards and 1 receiving touchdown.

Dan Reeves, Dallas Cowboys (270.32)

Reeves played in 14 games (started 14 games) and had 757 rushing yards and 8 rushing touchdowns. He also had 41 receptions for 557 receiving yards and 8 receiving touchdowns. Additionally, he had 48 passing yards.

Wide Receiver

Charley Taylor, Washington Redskins (300.10)

Taylor played in 14 games (started 14 games) and had 72 receptions (NFL league leader) for 1,119 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns. He also had 262 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. Taylor was the 1966 Fantasy Football Encyclopedia Player of the Year and the 1966 Fantasy Football Encyclopedia Most Valuable Player.

Lance Alworth, San Diego Chargers (290.30)

Alworth played in 13 games (started 13 games) and had 73 receptions (AFL league leader) for 1,383 receiving yards (AFL league leader) and 13 receiving touchdowns (AFL league leader). He also had 10 rushing yards.

Bob Hayes, Dallas Cowboys (265.10)

Hayes played in 14 games (started 14 games) and had 64 receptions for 1,232 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns (NFL league leader). He also had -1 rushing yards.

Tight End

John Mackey, Baltimore Colts (186.30)

Mackey played in 14 games (started 14 games) and had 50 receptions for 829 receiving yards and 9 receiving touchdowns. He also had -6 rushing yards. 

Second Team All-Pro

Quarterback

Frank Ryan, Cleveland Browns (280.56)

Ryan played in 14 games (started 14 games) and had 2,974 passing yards with 29 passing touchdowns (NFL league leader) with 14 interceptions. He also had 356 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown.

Running Back

Gale Sayers, Chicago Bears (262.12)

Sayers played in 14 games (started 13 games) and had 1,231 rushing yards (NFL league leader) and 8 rushing touchdowns. He also had 34 receptions for 447 receiving yards and 2 receiving touchdowns.

Clem Daniels, Oakland Raiders (243.30)

Daniels played in 14 games (started 14 games) and had 801 rushing and 7 rushing touchdowns. He also had 40 receptions for 652 receiving yards and 3 receiving touchdowns. Additionally, he had 1 interception. 

Wide Receiver

Charley Frazier, Houston Oilers (241.90)

Frazier played in 14 games (started 14 games) and had 57 receptions for 1,129 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns.

Otis Taylor, Kansas City Chiefs (237.00)

Taylor played in 14 games (started 14 games) and had 58 receptions for 1,297 receiving yards and 8 receiving touchdowns. He also had 33 rushing yards. Additionally, he had 1 interception.

Gino Cappelletti, Boston Patriots (229.60)

Cappelletti played in 14 games (started 14 games) and had 43 receptions for 676 receiving yards and 6 receiving touchdowns. He also had 16 field goals made and 35 extra points made.

Tight End

Carroll Dale, Green Bay Packers (166.60)

Dale Mackey played in 14 games (started 13 games) and had 37 receptions for 876 receiving yards and 7 receiving touchdowns.
